Oh, but...

But Steve, I loved those balcony guys on The Muppet Show. Curmudgeons, maybe, but I'd call them bemused skeptics -- a class of thinker I'm not so quick to dismiss. :-)

Now, you're right, real curmudgeons should go away, myself included when I admittedly slip into occasional crusty behavior.
