About me

I was born into the newspaper business. Now I try to find ways to keep it healthy in a world where the economic and journalistic rules are being rapidly rewritten.

As a strategist, I work for Morris Digital Works, the online division of Morris Communications, based in Augusta, Georgia, USA, but anything I write on this website is my personal opinion. Not everyone at work agrees with everything I say.

I'm available for limited public speaking and consulting engagements. Over the last few years I've been a featured speaker in the UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Russia and China, as well as throughout the United States. My travel map so far:

One of these days I hope to get an invitation to speak at a conference in South America, even though my Spanish is close to useless and my Portuguese nonexistent.
